THE LOOKS – SUBTLE AS A SLEDGEHAMMER
The full-body kit means Hayley’s TT now has the kind of presence that could make a Lamborghini feel insecure. Skirts, a rear diffuser, and a front splitter give it a look that says, “I may be diesel, but I’m still coming for you.”
The wheels? Hayley had them refurbed in bright metallic silver to match the wing mirrors, which themselves are wrapped in the same shade because why stop at just the wheels? Meanwhile, the centre caps have orange Audi rings, because symmetry be damned.
But the pièce de résistance? The roof, spoiler, grille surround, shark fin, and area behind the rear number plate are now wrapped in jaguar print. Yes, jaguar print. On an Audi. Somewhere in Ingolstadt, an Audi designer is weeping into their precision-measured espresso.
And if that wasn’t enough, Hayley added orange decals on the skirts, orange pinstriping on the splitter and diffuser, orange brake calipers, and orange S-Line side badges. To tie it all together, the honeycomb grille and Audi rings have been blacked out, while the TT and TDI badges at the rear have been sent into early retirement.
Because what this car is saying is: “I’m not just a TT. I’m Hayley’s TT.”
There are two kinds of people in this world. The ones who buy an Audi TT and leave it well alone, content in the knowledge that they have a perfectly capable, stylish coupé. And then there’s Hayley—the kind of person who takes one look at it and thinks, “This needs jaguar print and a set of orange badges.”
I think we can all agree that Hayley’s kind are much more fun.
Which brings us to this particular TT TDI S-Line, a car that has been given the kind of treatment that would make the board members of Audi choke on their bratwurst.
It started life as a fairly standard Daytona Grey Pearl Effect TT, which is a perfectly lovely colour. But then Hayley got to work. And oh boy, did the modifications begin.
THE INTERIOR – MORE ORANGE, OBVIOUSLY
Inside, the orange theme continues. The air vent rings are sprayed orange because if Hayley’s going to do it, she might as well commit. The headrests have black and orange S-Line decals, just in case anyone forgets what car they’re in.
And because there’s no such thing as too much tint, Hayley has had the windows, headlights, and taillights darkened to match the overall aesthetic of “Audi by way of Gotham City.”
Oh and a sun strip completes the look, because when you’ve come this far, why stop?
Hayley is “very happy” with how the car looks, which is probably the understatement of the century. But future plans include wheel spacers and possibly lowering the suspension. Because at this point, why not go all in?
This isn’t just a passing fling, either. Before this, Hayley had a Mk2 TT in Dakota Grey, a colour that Audi, for some inexplicable reason, decided to axe when the Mk3 arrived. A mistake on their part, obviously.
The dream car? An RS7. But the realistic next step? A TTS, because if Hayley has made one thing clear, it’s that TT love runs deep.
And frankly, if she could own every generation of TT, she absolutely would. Because let’s be honest—life’s just better when you drive something that turns heads, makes people question your sanity, and most importantly, makes you grin every time you get behind the wheel.
Would Audi approve? Probably not.
Does Hayley care? Absolutely not.
